About Z – The Heart and Vision Behind ZINGED
My Story
Hi, I’m Z.
I believe we are all created on purpose for a purpose and mine is to encourage and be a light.
That calling has shaped every chapter of my life: becoming a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, an ICF-certified coach, an experiential leadership consultant, a former track and field coach, and a proud mom of six (four boys and my two youngest daughters (two sets of twins).
I’ve spent decades creating spaces where people from every background could discover their voice, rebuild their confidence, and remember their worth. I’ve seen it in boardrooms, classrooms, counseling sessions, and on the track.
But if you ask me where my heart beats the loudest ... it’s for girls and women.
Because when a girl knows who she is, she grows into a woman who can’t be shaken.
Also, when a woman remembers her worth, she changes the world around her.
And honestly, I spend so much time on the field with my own kids that it felt natural to turn those sidelines into something more a place where other girls could feel seen, celebrated, and encouraged.
ZINGED is the heart of that mission. Every braid session is more than styling, it’s therapy in a chair, filled with affirmations, encouragement, and identity-building moments she’ll carry long after game day is over.
Why ZINGED Exists
I know confidence doesn’t come from a hairstyle ... it comes from identity, love, and support. ZINGED blends braiding, affirmations, and encouragement into a confidence-building experience she’ll carry long after she leaves my chair.

why i do this type of work?
Beyond ZINGED, I’m also a PhD student researching leadership in women and the role stress plays in how we lead, live, and show up in the world.
This work fuels everything I do because I know confidence isn’t just about how you look, it’s about how you think, feel, and believe about yourself.
Whether I’m braiding on the sidelines, speaking at a retreat, or counseling in a session, my mission is the same: to help you know your worth, own your voice, and walk boldly in your purpose.
I also believe deeply in the power of community because confidence grows stronger when we are surrounded by people who see us, support us, and remind us of who we are.
I am committed to being an active part of that community for the girls and women I serve.
